When MTV's "Teen Wolf" returns for its season 6, fans cannot still expect to see Derek Hale (Tyler Hoechlin) as the actor who breathed life to the character has categorically said that he has no plans of reprising the said role.

"I don't have any plans to right now. I kind of feel like where we left the character, at least, when I knew it was going that way, kind of wrapped it up in the passing of the baton on to Scott (Tyler Posey), is just kind of how I felt like that story ended," answered Hoechlin after a fan asked him at the Sydney's Supanova event last weekend if there is a chance for him to reprise the said role.

Despite not returning to "Teen Wolf" for the reprisal of his Derek Hale character, though, Hoechlin shared that he had a great time portraying the role during his stint on the show for four seasons as "Teen Wolf" gave him the opportunity to play with his character in every season that he was part of it.

He recalled that, in season 1, he portryed Derek Hale as someone driven by one thing, whereas, in season 2, he portrayed him as someone overly confident. In season 3 of "Teen Wolf," he was tasked to portray the character as an individual struggling to reclaim his loyal and dutiful image. Finally, in season 4, his acting chops succesfuly painted Derek Hale as someone who has finally found his purpose.

"I always thought they gave me really fun things to play with each season, I really enjoyed it," Hoechlin told Hypable.

While fans of Hoechlin will be deprived of the chance to see him portray Derek Hale on "Teen Wolf" once more, they will be treated to seeing him play a superhero in "Supergirl" season 2, as he has been chosen to breathe life to Superman in the said DC series on The CW. Although the role is more identified with Henry Cavill, who portrayed the character in the blockbuster movies "Man of Steel" and "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," Hoechlin said that he does not feel any pressure of being compared with Cavill.

"Superman is Superman, so I'm just going to try to carry on the tradition of that and play that part," said Hoechlin in an interview with Daily Mail.

"Teen Wolf" is expected to return to MTV for its season 6 this November.
