It seems like the Autopilot feature of the much talked about Tesla Model S is not as efficient as the enthusiasts thought it to be. A recent video shows that the car has hit a barrier while the specific feature is on.

A Reddit post shows how the Tesla Model S crashed into the barrier while on Autopilot mode. The driver is shown running on a highway located in Grapevine, Texas when the vehicle crashed. It was a good thing that the driver was safe after the incident.

"Autopilot was on and didn't give me a warning. It misread the road and hit the barrier. After the airbags deployed there was a bunch of smoke and my car rolled to a grinding stop. Thankfully no one was hurt and I walked away with only bruises," the driver wrote.

However, some observed that the car was paving a road under construction, so the vehicle has not recognized the sharp angle of the barrier.

Tesla has already faced issues with their Autopilot features, prompting them to apply constant improvements with the technology. It was in September when the company announced that they will upgrade the system so that it would depend more on its sensors than on its cameras.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk promised that they would come out with a fully-autonomous vehicle that can run from Los Angeles, California to New York, New York, "without the need for a single touch," by this year. However, nothing has been out as of this time.

Meanwhile, recent reports claim that the company has suffered a downfall with shorter interest seen on Feb. 15. The total shares of the company was seen at 32,203,854, which is a 6.2 percent decrease from the Jan. 31 record of 34,350,221 shares, according to Sports Perspectives.

Currently, the company has 26.3 percent of the total shares of the stock that are reportedly short sold. With its usual 4,650,650 daily volume share, the short-interest ratio is seen at 6.9 days.
