The CW finally announced the exact premiere date of the fourth season of its hit post-apocalyptic drama TV series "The 100." According to this publication, "The 100" season 4 will be coming back to the small screens by Feb. 1, 2017 and fans better brace themselves as some of the most shocking plot developments are expected to roll out.

Spoiler reports indicate that the new installment will definitely be filled to the brim with high-octane adventure and intense drama. Previous accounts have teased the one big catastrophe that threatens to erase every living being on the planet.

Knowing their impending destruction, executive producer Jason Rothenberg said that Clarke (Eliza Taylor), Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos), Monty (Christopher Larkin) and Murphy (Richard Harmon), will instead find peace before the storm.

"Once this thing lands in their lives as a reality -- that they're all going to die in six months -- we will see some people say, 'You know what, enough fighting, I just want to live life to its fullest,' and those people will sing," the showrunner told Zap2It in an interview.

Casting-wise, there's a lot to look forward to as well. It is said that Zach McGowan has been promoted to a series regular position, which means fans will get to see more of his character, Roan, throughout "The 100" season 4.

Nadia Hilker's Luna is also slated to come back with a much stronger constitute that could challenge that of Lexa's (Alycia Debnam-Carey). Speaking of the latter, Lexa's passing could also mean a new love interest coming up to fill the void in Clarke's heart.

It is said that the fearless leader will be linked to this mysterious person who happens to be someone who she already knows.

Meanwhile, a report said that viewers should expect the first official promo trailer for "The 100" season 4 sometime in January 2017.

To reiterate, "The 100" season 4 premieres this Feb. 1, 2017 on The CW.
