The fourth season of "The Blacklist" is still months away but fans are already speculating that some nasty exchanges between Red and Liz will occur once the show returns this fall.

While some viewers expected Liz (Megan Boone) to be alive, Red (James Spader) obviously didn't. He probably won't be too happy to find out that Liz kept her escape from death a secret with the help of a person Red trusted and believed to be his friend. Red was devastated when he found out that Liz had been killed and discovering that she staged everything and stayed hidden for some time will definitely tick Red off.

According to Parent Herald, recent reports suggest that there will be an explosion of long-hidden emotions once Liz and Red stand before each other in season four. As fans already know, the pair's intertwined lives has been keeping the show in action over the past seasons and it shouldn't be surprising if they cross paths again very soon.

In a recent talk with Entertainment Weekly, series creator Jon Bokenkamp explained that Red's partial truths will greatly affect the upcoming meeting of the two. Referring to the answers that Liz has been wanting to get from Red, Bokenkamp said, "Oh, that is still a big question to her. That's still something that she will want answers to. She's also resigned to the fact that there's only so much that [Red] is going to tell her; he withholds information, he tells partial truths."

Another issue that is expected to be raised in the fourth installment of "The Blacklist" is the potential for Red to turn out to be Liz's father. Melty notes that fans have long been arguing about the matter since Red could have had an affair with Katarina (Lotte Verbeek), who is believed to be Liz's biological mother.

A fan theory on Reddit suggests that Red's illicit affair with Katarina resulted to the birth of Liz. While many viewers agree that this is a good story, some still insist that Red can't be Liz's father and it is none other than Alexander Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen), who earlier introduced himself as Constantine Rostova.

Season four of "The Blacklist" is slated for release in Fall 2016.
