Nostalgia is bound to fill the air as all ten seasons of mega hit comedy TV series 'Friends' heads to online streaming on Netflix.

"They will all be there for you, Jan.1, 2015," Netflix teased.

Friends on Netflix streaming will only be available for US and Canada subscribers.

"Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe and Joey will bore you stupid with their perverse morality play if that's your thing. Or thrill you with their witty banter. Not," Tim Colman of Netflix quipped.

The series that ran from 1994 to 2004 launched the careers of Jennifer Aniston (Rachel), Courtney Cox (Monica), Matt LeBlanc (Joey), Matthew Perry (Chandler), David Schwimmer (Ross) and Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe).

"Netflix announced the deal with a music video of the show's hit theme song 'I'll Be There for You' performed by pop duo the Rembrandts at the show's local coffee hangout, Central Perk. The cafe was installed as a pop-up in New York this month to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 'Friends' premiere," Reuters reported.

Friends aired a total of 236 episodes amounting to about 83 hours of airtime.

Given the amount of viewership the program received during its ten-year stint on television, this is going to be a huge deal for Netflix, whose shares recently slumped due to lack of new subscriptions.

"Netflix signed up 3.02m customers globally in the third quarter, compared to the 3.69m it had expected in July," according to BBC.

The stagnation of the company's growth came right after Time Warner announced that HBO will launch its very own online streaming service, deemed a direct assault on Netflix's dominance.
