'The Elder Scrolls 6' release date: Bethesda boss says no game launch at Gamescom 2017 and 2018

(Twitter/elderscrolls) "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" is the latest edition to the game franchise and it will take some time before a new sequel is released.

Fans of "The Elder Scrolls" franchise have been waiting for game developer Bethesda to announce new details about the much-awaited sixth title. Just recently, Bethesda finally responded to the numerous speculations about "The Elder Scrolls 6."

In an interview with Game Star, while Bethesda studio vice president Pete Hines confirmed that "The Elder Scrolls 6" is still a part of their plans, it will not be launched in the near future.

"Just so you know, not at the next Gamescom and not the one after that; there are at least two big games from Bethesda Games Studios before we get around to Elder Scrolls 6," he explained. This means that fans cannot expect the upcoming title in either Gamescom 2017 or 2018.

Even though Hines hinted that something big is coming from Bethesda, he did not reveal the titles of the new games.

Hines also explained how they work in Bethesda compared to other game developers. He emphasized that they focus on creating massive worlds within their games that players can intensely explore. He added, "What new feature can we add, what new things can we offer without sacrificing the things that make a game like ours, cool."

Based on Hines' statement, the previous rumors that the game is coming in 2019 is possible. According to reports, "The Elder Scrolls 6" will most likely hit gaming stores three years from now. The calculations were based on Bethesda's trend of releasing newer titles. "The Elder Scrolls V" was released in 2011 and four years later, the newer title "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited" came out. Since the online game came out last year, then the sixth installment of the game will most likely come out in 2019.

There are speculations that the reason for the delay is the development of the expansion packs of Bethesda's other successful titles, such as the recent "Fallout 4."
