The "Fallout" and "The Elder Scrolls" video game series are considered to be Bethesda's most popular and successful game titles. With the release of "Fallout 4" last year, many are now wondering about whether the game developer is planning to release "The Elder Scrolls VI" this year.

Last February, Bethesda announced its presence in the upcoming E3 taking place in June 2016. Bethesda will host a press conference on June 12. Since Bethesda announced "Fallout 4" during the E3 trade show last year, rumors are now circulating that Bethesda may announce "Elder Scrolls VI" this time around.

Unfortunately, at this time, rumors of the release of "The Elder Scrolls VI" have not been confirmed by Bethesda.

During the 2015 E3, Peter Hines, Vice President for PR and Marketing at Bethesda, shed light on the company's development process. Hines revealed that Bethesda opts to deliver quality games instead of churning out new installments every year or so.

"It's rare to have franchises like the ones we have and to have people joking about 'when is "Skyrim 2" coming out?' The reason they say that is because generally speaking that's what you'd be getting with another publisher in charge. They'd be spitting out a 'Skyrim 2' the year after or two years later. That's just not how we view it. We're not the sort of publisher that focuses on 'what's out 25 titles for 2015,'" Hines explained to Telegraph.

"The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim" was released back in 2013 which was followed by "The Elder Scrolls Online" in 2014 and mobile game "The Elder Scrolls: Legends" this year. Bethesda has not made any new announcements for the possible "The Elder Scrolls VI."

It is unlikely that Bethesda will be releasing "The Elder Scrolls VI" at the E3. While the next installment in the popular video game franchise is reportedly possible, given the time it takes to develop a game, it won't be released any time soon. Also, given the popularity of "Fallout 4," it is likely that Bethesda is first focusing on its continued development, rather than starting something new.

For the E3 2016, expect Bethesda to offer more information about its current lineup of games including "Fallout 4," "Dishonored" and "Doom."
