It has been a fantastic first season for what the fans are saying is "the best superhero series on television," the CW's "The Flash." The season finale gave a glimpse of the multiple timelines the Flash could discover with the appearance of Jay Garrick's helmet. For those who do not know, Jay Garrick is Barry Allen's counterpart as the Flash in a parallel Earth.

With the Flash's capability to break the time barrier, DC comics has established a multiverse of parallel Earths and only a speedster like the Flash can travel between them. In the multiverse, a different version of the same character can exist, depending on the universe's history of events. In an interview with TV Guide, Grant Gustin hinted that the show would begin exploring the multiverse in season two. "What's fun about this show is that there's going to be multiple timelines as we move forward," Gustin says. "I think we're going to start showing Earth-One and Earth-Two in the near future. There will be kind of different dimensions going on."

Aside from Jay Garrick, fans are also speculating that the series could introduce Wally West in season two, according to Fashin & Style. Wally is Iris' nephew and also a future speedster. In the comics, Wally recreates Barry's accident in order to acquire super speed and becomes known as Kid Flash. Caitlin Snow's (Danielle Panabaker) transformation to Killer Frost could also happen at some point in season two, or she may already be Killer Frost on another Earth.

In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed that Tom Cavanagh will return to reprise his role as Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne in season two. He was last seen being erased from existence after Eddie Thawne (his ancestor) shoots himself to prevent Eobard's future existence. Actor Rick Cosnett, who plays Eddie Thawne in the show, may also return in a recurring role, as hinted by Kriesberg. "The great thing with our show is just because you are dead doesn't mean you're not coming back. Especially in the world of The Flash, which involves time travel and real hardcore science fiction, there's always a way for Eddie to return, and we hope Rick will"

"The Flash" returns for season two this fall on The CW.
