Fans of the The Mentalist are in for a surprising twist of events as things get more exciting for the FBI agents in seventh and final season of the CBS hit. International Business Times reported that in Episode 4 titled, 'The Black Market," the new romance between Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) and Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney) would continue to go smoothly despite Erica Flynn's (Morena Baccarin) devious attempts to get between the two. Meanwhile, Agent Dennis Abbott is about to get in hot water for a wrong decision he made in the past, which would be explored in the coming episodes.

Abbott, played by Rockmond Dunbar, gets the spotlight when former boss Special Agent Bill Peterson played by Dylan Baker, threatens to come out with a past mistake that has huge implications on his career and personal life. His wife Lena, played by Christina Adams, gets accepted in a job in Washington but Abbott's secret could endanger her new post. According to Enstars, Robin Tunney spoke of Abbott's character in the upcoming episodes. The actress noted, "There's a lot of character development with Abbott." She added, "His character gets really fleshed out. He's sort of involved in a pretty big scandal. It's a really big arc and we get to know who he is and his life and what his family's life is like."

On the other hand, Michelle Vega (Josie Loren) gets scolded from Kimball Cho (Tim Kang) because of her lie. Vega has been struggling with the new team and environment and trying her best to fit in. It remains to be seen whether the tension between the two would eventually lead to something deeper.
