'The Originals' season 4 spoilers: Five-year time jump to happen

(The CW Network)Five years after, Hope Mikaelson asks for her father on "The Originals" season 4.

The recently held San Diego Comic-Con has put an end to some speculations regarding "The Originals" season 4 as a five-year time jump was revealed.

A trailer was also presented, which shows flashbacks from the previous episodes accompanied by a reflection voice-over by Klaus Mikaelson, portrayed by actor Joseph Morgan. The last part shows a grown-up Hope Mikaelson asking "Mom, are we going to get my dad?" Her mom Hayley Marshall (Phoebe Tonkin) then replies, "Yes, sweetie. I promise."

The last time viewers saw the Mikaelsons was when the prophecy of their fall came into play. Klaus is being hidden by Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) behind a wall, while Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Rebekah (Claire Holt), Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic), and Freya (Riley Voelkel) were placed in individual caskets loaded into a truck driven by Hayley.

It has been speculated that Hope will be the key to the rise of the older Mikaelsons as she possesses the power of a witch, a werewolf, and a vampire. While that theory has yet to be proven, executive producer Michael Narducci revealed that saving the Mikaelsons will require Hayley to locate seven werewolf packs.

In an interview with Hypable, Narducci may have also revealed that Hayley, Hope, and the rest of the Mikaelsons will be back in New Orleans and that the war between the Mikaelsons and Marcel will not last long as they will be forced to join forces to fight a new evil. He said, "I think one thing that all of our characters would be able to get behind is a threat to Hope and to the other children of New Orleans. New Orleans born witches, New Orleans born werewolves, New Orleans born people, there's something that's happening to them. When the Mikaelsons and Marcel find out about that, they're all going to have to come together in a pretty interesting way."

The premiere for "The Originals" season 4 has not yet been announced, but the show is widely believed to be released during the fall shows' midseason break.
