Season 7 of "The Vampire Diaries" returns this Friday night with an all-new episode titled "Requiem for a Dream." In the penultimate episode of the season, the vampires of Mystic Falls will continue to work together to save Bonnie's life; however, they will face one very challenging obstacle in the form of Bonnie herself.

Last week's episode titled "Kill 'Em All" saw Damon take a huge risk by transferring Rayna's last life to Bonnie. While this may have saved her life, Rayna's killer instincts were also carried over. As such, Bonnie has become the new vampire huntress — which is definitely bad news for her closest friends who are incidentally all vampires.

In the promo for the upcoming episode, Damon and Enzo worry endlessly about Bonnie waking up and trying to kill them all. Bonnie decides to mark Caroline as her first target. She appears unannounced at Caroline's house and threatens the safety of her twins.

As Bonnie puts Caroline's life in jeopardy, Stefan finds himself at her side. The desire to protect Caroline will lead Stefan to make a very rash decision that will finally have the former couple face the fallout of their relationship.

The trailer also previews the battle between friends-turned-enemies Damon and Bonnie. Damon tries to escape but is finally caught. As Bonnie tries to put a stake into his heart, Damon resists and tries once again and tries to ask for Bonnie's forgiveness.

Also in the episode, Matt decides to take matters into his own hands in order to save his friends. Given his current human status, will he be the one who can talk some sense into Bonnie?
