'The Walking Dead' season 6 spoilers, plot news: Who captured Carol and Maggie?; Rick in a standoff with Negan's men

Exciting is too tame an adjective to describe the previous episode of "The Walking Dead" as Rick Grimes and his group pulled off a near perfect attack on the Saviors' compound. Unfortunately, the Saviors were able to capture two of their own, Maggie and Carol. Is this the end for the two?

A synopsis posted on Design & Trend reveals that in episode 13, "Rick and his band of survivors soon discover a larger world with new dangers and new opportunities."

While it's unclear at the moment what "new opportunities" will present themselves to the group, it's pretty obvious in the trailer for the upcoming episode, "The Same Boat," what those dangers are.

The clip starts with Carol (Melissa McBride) pointing her gun in Maggie's (Lauren Cohan) direction, but the next scene shows the two with guns to their heads. Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the others are then shown with their one hostage, with the former sheriff apparently negotiating with the woman on the walkie-talkie. At a nod from the red haired woman, the others suddenly cover Maggie and Carol's heads. As the woman warns them that there's no way out of this, the scene shows what little Carol or Maggie can see while their heads are covered. The clip ends with a shot of the red haired woman and a bound and gagged Carol.

A sneak peek gives viewers a longer look at the negotiations between the red-haired woman, played by Alicia Witt, and Rick. Alexandria's leader demands proof of life and she gives him that, but she also pointed out to Rick that a two against one hostage exchange wasn't fair. A man with the group tells her they need to get Primo back but she counters that Primo can take care of himself.

There are only three episodes left in season 6 of "The Walking Dead," and avid fans are no doubt dreading the finale, when Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is set to appear. Spoiler TV reported what is alleged to be the titles and the synopses for the last three episodes of the season, and it doesn't bode well for Rick and his group.

Episode 13 of "The Walking Dead" season 6 will be aired on March 13 on AMC.
