'The Walking Dead' season 6 spoilers, cast news: Four new characters to be introduced

(AMC)"The Walking Dead" season 6 will see four new cast members

Season 5 finale of "The Walking Dead" was aired almost three months ago in March, but fans are still talking about how the series ended. Lucky for them, there are no doubts about whether the show will be renewed for another season. Since the show still receives the highest of ratings for AMC, its renewal was announced by the network even before season 5 had ended. The sixth season of the show is slated for a fall release and details about the upcoming season have already surfaced online.

"The Walking Dead", which first aired in October of 2010, is an American horror drama TV show based on Robert Kirkman's comic book series of the same name. The show follows the life of Rick Grimes as he wakes up after a three-month coma to find the world being overrun by flesh-eating zombies.

The end of season 5 saw the death of several characters, including Pete and Reg. While the loss of characters will definitely affect the show, the recent rumors of a new cast should provide some comfort to fans.

A report by Latin Post claims that season 6 will see four new "The Walking Dead" additions. One of the new characters is Kirk who is described as a "former blue-collar everyman from a small town who was getting along fine with his life until the world changed and he felt that he should start looking out for number one (himself) and eliminate anyone in his way".

With him is his wife Hilda, a strong woman who doesn't allow the zombie situation to affect her mentally. Allison, a psychologist with an awkward and sketchy personal life, will also debut along with Tucker, a guy's guy who will guest-star in "The Walking Dead".

No premiere date has been set for "The Walking Dead" season 6 and the casting for the new characters has also not been confirmed. Until then the show's fans can get their zombie fix from the companion show "Fear The Walking Dead" to be aired by August.
