'The Walking Dead' season 6 spoilers: season 6 focuses on Morgan and Rick; spin-off deals with virus outbreak

"The Walking Dead" has been one of the most critically acclaimed and highest rated shows of its time. Season five ended with the introduction of the Wolves and Morgan's entry in Rick's life. What will happen in season six?

Writer and executive producer of "The Walking Dead", Robert Kirkman, was present at the National Association of Broadcasters Show along with actor Stephen Yeun and AMC President Charlie Collier. The trio gave some insight into season six and provided some scoop on its companion series "Fear The Walking Dead". The Wrap reports that Kirkman confirmed that Rick and Morgan's relationship will be central plot for season six.

He said, "Having Rick and Morgan together, finally, again is a huge deal, and it's definitely going to be a big part of Season 6. Now it's a very different Rick and a very different Morgan who are going to have a completely different relationship. And it's the questions of how they're going to interact, how they're going to work together — if they're going to work together — and what comes from those interactions is going to be basically the spine of season six."

Yeun's character will also have an interesting storyline, however, both Kirkman and Yeun refused to address rumors of Glenn's death. But Yeun did specify that if his character dies, it will be meaningful and poignant, since he is one of the main characters on the show.

Meanwhile, Mashable reports that Collier said "Fear The Walking" deals with the virus outbreak when it happened. Rather than delving into the origin story of the virus, the plot will concentrate on how the world changed when people started turning. The heart of the story is survival and the spin-off will harken back to a time when the zombie threat was a more dangerous and omnipresent threat.

There is no release date set yet for "The Walking Dead" season six but "Fear The Walking Dead" is slated to release in October 2015.
