'The Walking Dead' season 7 news, updates: Andrew Lincoln teases season 7B

When AMC's TV adaptation of Robert Kirkman's popular comic book series "The Walking Dead" returns for the rest of season 7, the Alexandrians' world is going to expand even further. And although things look bleak for now, Andrew Lincoln believes that the sun will eventually come to rise.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lincoln, who portrays the Alexandrian leader Rick Grimes, admitted that season 7 is a very dark season, but, according to him, "it's always darkest before the dawn."

"What you will see is a much bigger universe, an expansion. This world is about to get a lot bigger," the actor revealed. "Obviously, the fallout from the death is going to make different alignments between the people that survive the death and any other communities," he added.

Based on Kirkman's comic books, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) will be tormenting the residents of Alexandria, like they have done with the Hilltop and the Kingdom. The Saviors' harassment of the aforementioned communities will lead them to unite.

When Lincoln read his script for episode 16, he said a scene in the particular episode made him drop the script, make a couple of air punches, and he even did a little jig. According to Lincoln, the group will be back in action in the second half of season 7. Rick and his family will regain their will to fight back. And in the episodes to come, the actor assures viewers that the thrill of the fight will be felt.

Their upcoming revolution, however, will not be enough to end the Saviors' leader. Morgan previously confirmed that he will be reprising his role for the eighth season of "The Walking Dead."

"The Walking Dead" is currently in a brief hiatus, but the show returns with the second half of season 7 on AMC on Feb. 12, Sunday, at 9 p.m. EST.
