There have been rumors pertaining to the release of "The Winds of Winter," particularly claiming that the novel's impending launch will happen at the World Fantasy Convention or Worldcon. However, it has been confirmed that no such release will happen at the event.

According to reports, there was some talk that the sixth installment in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" franchise would be presented at Worldcon. But Jaki Arthur, the marketing and communications head of Harper Collins Australia, indirectly denied the claims. Arthur admitted that they do not know what will happen at the event, but she did say that "The Winds of Winter" is not scheduled as one of its main attractions.

A release date has yet to be determined since author George R.R. Martin is still hard at work on the novel. An update has yet to be made known as well. Nevertheless, fans trust that Martin is doing his best to complete the sixth novel and eagerly wait for its arrival.

Many are wondering what the plot will be in the upcoming novel. It has been noted that HBO's "Game of Thrones" has already diverted and gone beyond the fantasy novel series, so it is impossible to know what lies ahead for both works at this point.

Previously, there was a rumor going around that Lyanna Mormont, who is known for her fierce attitude despite her age, may meet her end in "The Winds of Winter." The speculations started when a Twitter account claiming to be owned by the author tweeted: "So you guys like Lyanna Mormont... Noted." The post ended with a winking emoji.

However, the Twitter account, with the handle @GRRM, was revealed to be a fake. Martin's real Twitter account is actually under a different username. It has also been pointed out that Martin will not reveal any details about the upcoming book until it is finished.
