'The Expendables 4' news: Jason Statham shares his thoughts on the movie

It has been more than a year since the third instalment of the action blockbuster movie, "The Expendables," hit the big screen and despite mixed reviews, fans would be excited to learn that mere months after the premiere, Sylvester Stallone has confirmed that a fourth film is already on its way to development.

Last year, CraveOnline spoke to Stallone himself and during the interview, the action star confirmed the fourth movie when asked about the film's R-rating and possible characters that might be brought back to the franchise.

"I personally just believe that the characters become identifiable and their demise could put a dark cloud over an audience exiting the theatre after seeing the film. But that may change in Expendables 4," explained Stallone.

Since the interview, details about the upcoming movie have since surfaced. Most of the reports have been purely speculative. However if there is anything audiences can bank on seeing time and time again in "The Expendables" movie is Jason Statham.

Early in 2015, Statham sat down with IGN to discuss his future projects. During the conversation "The Transporter" star, gushed about how much of a fan he has been of Sylvester Stallone. He further confirms that he would be game for as much "The Expendable" movies as Stallone would like to make.

"Working with Sylvester Stallone is beyond a pinch yourself moment. I remember growing up watching his films. And to be directed by him and to be in a movie that he's produced and to be shoulder to shoulder with Sly is a privilege any man who loves action movies would never turn their nose up at. I mean, it's terrific. I'll do as many as he wants." revealed Statham.

Neither Sly not anyone from the cast and crew of "The Expendables 4" has confirmed when the upcoming movie would be released. However, it is expected to premiere in 2017.
