'Thor: Ragnarok' plot spoilers: Natalie Portman not joining the film

(Marvel)'Thor: Ragnarok' is scheduled to hit theaters on Nov. 3, 2017.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed that Thor's love interest, Jane Foster, will not figure in the upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok" film.

During an interview with The Empire Film podcast, Feige explained, "Many reasons. Many of which are in the film so that you will see that." He also revealed, "There are only a couple of scenes on Earth in this movie. 80 to 90 percent takes place in the cosmos." Portman will not be appearing in the upcoming "Avengers" movies as well.

There are rumors saying actress Tessa Thompson will be Thor's new lady love. She is said to play the role Valkyrie, a female Asgard warrior who is also known by the name Brunnhilde. Talks about Thompson joining the cast of "Avengers" have also made the rounds.

Marvel will be featuring more crossovers in its upcoming standalone features. The Marvel Cinematic Universe also makes it a point to have continuity among its projects. In line with that, the big green Incredible Hulk will join Thor in the film. They were both last seen on "The Avengers: Age of Ultron." When the movie ended, Hulk has decided to go away as far as possible because of his inability to control his rage.

They did not appear on "Captain America: Civil War" where their fellow Avengers were featured, but they have been mentioned in the movie. It has been speculated that Thor will help the Hulk control his temper. There are also speculations that the Planet Hulk of the green superhero will be introduced in the movie. This version is said to give way to a standalone movie for the Planet Hulk.
