'Thor: Ragnarok' spoilers, news: Director Taika Waititi confirms 'Planet Hulk' feature

(Facebook/Thor)"Thor: Ragnarok" director Taika Waititi has confirmed that the film will folllow the "Planet Hulk" storyline.

The upcoming third installment in the "Thor" film series has been surrounded by rumors and speculations, thus far. And, for a while, it seemed like fans were going to have to wait until its release to find out if there is any truth to them. But now, thanks to director Taika Waititi, one rumor has been settled.

It has been speculated for quite some time now that "Thor: Ragnarok" will feature the "Planet Hulk" storyline, which was originally seen in the comic books. Props revealed during the San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year and a recent poster also supported the theory. And after a long wait, Waititi, while speaking to Total Film magazine, has finally confirmed the rumor.

MCU Exchange managed to take a photo of the issue with Waititi's interview.

"Sakaar was just an insane, far-off, futuristic place which was the biggest shift for the film and these characters," he said. "I was really excited when Kevin and the rest of Marvel jumped on board with the idea to use [Jack] Kirby as a big influence in the design of the film. What's really hard is staying authentic."

For those who are unaware, Sakaar happens to be where Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) reunite. It can be recalled that the Hulk left at the end of "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and hasn't been seen since. It is possible that he traveled all the way to Sakaar, which may be where Jeff Goldblum's Grandmaster is holding intergalactic gladiator battles.

Fans are definitely excited to see the green beast on the big screen once again, having missed him on "Captain America: Civil War." It is even more thrilling to think that the Hulk will be working together with Thor. Tom Hiddleston's Loki is also set to appear, while Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange is expected to cameo.

"Thor: Ragnarok" will premiere in theaters on Nov. 3, 2017.
