Fans of the popular Japanese anime "Tokyo Ghoul" won't be happy to find out that the latest rumor in the string of news about the series has to do with its delay in production. This season 3 production delay, in turn, will result in its release date being pushed back—possibly to 2017.

Although the news might come as off-putting to some, others are taking this time as an opportunity to voice out their opinions on the first couple of seasons of the anime series. It seems that the anime version of "Tokyo Ghoul" strayed from its source material, the manga, which led to many disappointed fans. Some have called out for a reboot, with petitions being started and comments being shared on different sites. The most common of these are found in "Tokyo Ghoul's" Wikia page.

As for the rumor regarding "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3's production delay, it stems from the fact that the manga hasn't been finished and is only ahead of the anime series by a few chapters. If the production team behind the series decides to proceed without waiting for more material, this may lead to a fan uproar, especially since their judgment of the previous seasons haven't been positive so far.

Despite a petition being started and numerous fans calling for a reboot, neither FUNimation nor Studio Pierrot have expressed their interest in going ahead with fans' wishes.

However, some fans remain loyal to the series, in spite of the studio's decision to stray from the manga. The Japanese anime's third season was initially rumored to come out this year, but recent reports now say otherwise. For those loyal fans, this certainly comes as bad news.

Of course, since nothing has been officially confirmed and these are all mere speculations, readers should take this news with a grain of salt for now.

As for what lies ahead, "Tokyo Ghoul" will reportedly delve into some darker material, featuring a more psychological take and tackling issues of race.

Stay tuned for the latest news and updates.
