"Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" is yet to be released but it is already making waves amongst fans, especially after the release of that trailer where Ethan Hunt, played by actor, Tom Cruise, is seen hanging from a plane taxiing for takeoff.

The movie has spawned Cruise back into the consciousness of action movie fans, who are also all pushing for a new "Top Gun" movie. And the actor just might be up for it.

"Top Gun" is the movie that made Cruise one of the most bankable stars in Hollywood. And now, Chief Executive for Skydance Media and Film Producer, David Ellison, is hinting on bringing back the 1986 hit with a sequel and possibly getting Cruise again for the title role.

Last month, Ellison said that they are already developing "Top Gun 2" with a screenplay already in development.

Asked about whether he would like to reprise his role as the protagonist, Maverick Mitchell, Cruise told Reuters, "It would be fun. I would like to get back into those jets."

If he does go back behind the jets, however, he has one condition: that he gets behind them for real. "It would have to be practical. I don't want any CGI jets. I want to shoot it like how we shot the first one," says the 53-year-old actor.

In his latest project, "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation," Cruise did most of his stunts, including the death-defying plane scene. In the movie, he steps back into the role of Ethan Hunt, currently a target of the CIA after the shutdown of the IMF.

The fifth movie in the "Mission: Impossible" franchise, "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation," premieres on July 30, 2015.

Also in the movie are Jeremy Renner (William Brandt), Simon Pegg (Benji Dunn), Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames), and Alan Hunley (Alec Baldwin).
