Looks like the stars of the "Fast and the Furious" franchise are now stepping out of their vehicles and joining the superhero league. First, it was Vin Diesel, who played—or rather voiced—the big, walking tree, Groot in the Marvel's movie "Guardians of the Galaxy" and now, Tyrese Gibson has hinted on having a potential role in DC's "Green Lantern" movie.

In his Instagram post last week [via superherohype], Gibson uploaded a photo (made by a fan) that depicts him as John Stewart, one of the human members of the Green Lantern Corp. Chris Pine was included in the fan art, as well, as Hal Jordan.

As reported on superherohype, looks like the rumor about Pine playing Steve Trevor in "Wonder Woman" was just a cover up as it was mentioned that Warner Bros. actually wants him to play Hal Jordan in the "Green Lantern" reboot.

The "Furious 7" actor, on the other hand, during his interview with ET Online, did not deny the speculated role, although he did not confirm it either. He told ET Online "There are certain things I can't speak on, but I will say, however this works out, it's definitely the fans' fault. I was at home minding my own business and fans start creating these fan-made videos of me as Green Lantern and I looked into it."

After a few days, Gibson again updated his Instagram and shared another teaser. But this time, it seems like there is a good chance that he will be playing the role of John Stewart.

The photo, which looks like a movie poster set to be released in 2020, was captioned, "tyrese #TheOath has been taken....." and shows Hal Jordan and  John Stewart.

But whether he will or will not be playing John Stewart is still up in the air. Gibson still has not released any official statement, as well as the production studio.
