'Under The Dome' Season 2 only just wrapped up, and it ended with an explosion of character developments and unexpected twists. However, the second season ended without any concrete answers, and maybe it was intentional since CBS has just announced that Under The Dome is renewed and will be back for a Season 3 renewal.

Premiering in June, 2013, Under The Dome gained 13.5 million viewers for its first season, with a 3.3 demo rating.

Though the ratings significantly dropped in Season 2, Dome remains one of this summer's best written television series, with 11 million viewers for the second season. It has been reported that Under The Dome rakes in around $900,000 per episode.

Talking to website Assignment X, Under The Dome producer Neal Baer, expressed his desire to run the series for 5 seasons.

"We have great adventures ahead," Baer told Assignment X.

"We've set it up so we can keep going. We have a lot of stories left to tell," the producer continued.

"It changes as the show continues. I don't really know [how it ends] – we have certain ideas that we can do, but it's in flux," Bear further shared in the Assignment X interview.

Another CBS show that has been renewed is Steven Spielberg-produced 'Extant,' which stars Academy Award winning actress, Halle Berry.
