There is a lot of anticipation regarding the upcoming installment of the "Underworld" films as many fans are awaiting Selene's return.

It has been a couple of years since the release of the most recent installment, titled "Underworld: Awakening," which is why fans of the franchise are excited for "Underworld: Blood Wars." With that, they will see Selene, played by Kate Beckinsale, back in the big screens.

Fortunately, the actress was able to share some details about what will take place in "Underworld: Blood Wars" during the recently concluded New York Comic Con. At the event, she teased that there will be some epic violence in the movie.

Beckinsale stated that the violence that fans can expect will be creatively done and will surely wow audiences. In addition, this means that her character will surely bring some fierce scenes to the mix.

She said in an interview with Yahoo! Movies, "If Selene ever has to really kill anybody -- like a really serious monster -- it's never just that she gets the biggest sword there is. It involves a plan that's twisted as [expletive]. She definitely has one of those plans in this film, which I like."

As for the plotline, Beckinsale teased that it will happen some weeks after the events of the previous film, which ended with her romantic interest, Michael, missing. She said, "We pick up a few weeks or months later, when she's on the run from both the Lycans and the Vampires. So she's in the worst position that she's ever been in."

Because of this, audiences can expect a lot of challenges for Selene as she struggles with her loss. Unfortunately, she did not reveal anything more on what else will happen in "Underworld: Blood Wars."

Meanwhile, fans can catch the recently released trailer for the upcoming movie.

"Underworld: Blood Wars" is expected to release in theaters this Jan. 6, 2017.
