It is still a few months until the fourth season of History's "Vikings" premieres. However, there is no stopping fans from being excited for the show's return. Fortunately, despite the long wait, more and more details about season 4 have been released and by the looks of it, the comeback of Ragnar and the rest of the gang will be nothing but exciting.

In the season 3 finale, Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) faked his own death in order to infiltrate Paris and allow his warriors to slaughter the impregnable city, only letting his son Bjorn in on his plan. This manipulation led to several of Ragnar's close confidants, including his ex-wife Lagertha and shipbuilder Floki, to make shocking confessions beside his coffin. Floki admitted that he murdered Ragnar's closest friend, Athelstan, leading to a confrontation in the final few minutes of the finale.

The stars of the historical drama appeared at this year's San Diego Comic-Con last July 10 to provide a glimpse of what is in store for viewers at the onset of season 4. During the event, History executive vice president Dirk Hoogstra also unveiled the brand new trailer for the new season.

There are several things that were revealed during the fan-packed event, one is that there will be a time jump from the third to the fourth season. Ragnar's younger children will have already aged and are bound to play bigger parts in season 4. Bjorn, after the events of season 3, is going on a spiritual journey. This is his quest to become more of a man while mourning the death of his wife Porunn. Reportedly, the return of the epic series would also see Ragnar with a new love interest.

History revealed that season 4 of "Viking's will be having a 20-episode run and is set to be aired in 2016.
