'Wayward Pines' news: fans split on whether Shyamalan should do another season

"Wayward Pines'" pilot season finale aired less than two weeks ago and fans are clamoring to find out whether or not the show would get a second season. While the show is initially meant to only have a one season run, the positive reception of the first season might be enough to convince FOX to order another set of episodes for the show.
"Wayward Pines," which first aired last May, is an American thriller television series, whose first episode was directed by famed director, M. Night Shyamalan. It follows Ethan Burke, played by Matt Dillon, a US Secret Service agent, as he investigates the disappearance of his fellow agents after going to the mysterious town of "Wayward Pines" in Idaho.
The series received very favorable reviews with some critics claiming that the show is a comeback for Shyamalan who has produced very questionable films in the past. Despite the great reception, however, an article by seriable.com has confirmed that FOX has cancelled the show.
Clearly, some fans of the series are baffled by the network's decision even taking their dissatisfaction on the show's official Facebook page.
"Obsessed. can't stop thinking about wayward pines. more please, more please," said one Chris Everard
Ricardo Oliveira wrote, "Even though there's no other books, there should definitely be a second season. Great show."
While Shaina Shoemo commented, "Is Wayward Pines coming back for another season? That finale was crazy! What's going to happen? Because this show has taken over my Thursday's lol."
Still, others are pleased with Fox's decision thanking the network for not running a perfectly contained series with another season.
"Loved the show. Absolutely amazing and I loved the bitter ending. Please no more seasons! Just leave it there before you ruin the concept," explained Santiago Aguilera Cruz .
Facebook user, Teare Kelly Caton commented on one of the pictures on the Facebook page and said,
"Why can't we ever have a mini-series that is just that? I'll watch it though, the next phase. Hope I won't be as disappointed as I am with Under The Dome."
Fox has yet to comment on "Wayward Pines'" season two.
