'Wayward Pines' season 2 spoilers: Promo teaser - what to expect

(Wayward Pines / Facebook)'Wayward Pines' season 2 will premiere on May 25 at 9 p.m. on FOX.

Fans who watched the first season of "Wayward Pines" would be pleased to know that a promo teaser has been released for season 2.

The teaser opens up with a stage of singing children wearing suits and pine trees. The song is about the future of Wayward Pines. Along with the singing, viewers are shown a glimpse of what to expect from the upcoming season. It shows a handcuffed Kate who is probably getting ready to be experimented upon. Another scene shows Dr. Theo Yedlin who happens to discover the dark secret behind the town's past and probably the origin of the abbies. There is also a sneak peek into CJ Mitchum killing an abbie with a flamethrower, and Ben Burke discovering a field filled with abbies.

This is turning out to be quite a revelation for season 2 that fans should not miss, and hopefully the upcoming season answers more questions regarding the town. Fans who are interested in watching the full promo video, can view it below.

Those who are not familiar about the series, "Wayward Pines" is a story based on a novel by Blake Crouch. The first season follows Ethan Burke investigating the case of two lost U.S secret service agents in the town of Wayward Pines. During his investigation, he finds that one of the agents is dead, while the other, Kate, has settled in the town. What is peculiar about the town is the fact that it has a strict set of rules implemented by Sheriff Arnold Pope, where violators will be executed through a ceremony the town calls "reckoning." Being an outsider, Blake then is tasked to investigate further knowing that the inital case of the lost agents has more strings attatched and may be more complicated than expected.

"Wayward Pines" season 2 will begin on May 25.
