'The Winds of Winter,' the sixth book that comes out of the epic series "A Song of Ice and Fire" is likely to receive a release date in 2017.

The author of the book that was adopted into HBO mega hit series "Game of Thrones," George R.R. Martin, is known for his slow pace when writing his lengthy novels.

In an interview, Martin hinted on some major events that will transpire in the book.

"I think we're gonna start out with a big smash with the two enormous battles. We have more deaths, and we have more betrayals. We have more marriages," the American author stated.

Readers eagerly await the sixth book, but Martin was recently in the news lately for dropping the F-bomb, reacting with the tacky gesture towards an interviewer who, on behalf of his many fans, made notions that the author might not live long enough to finish the book.

"I find that question pretty offensive, frankly, when people start speculating about my death and my health, so f--- you to those people," Martin said in an interview.

Perhaps to get his displeasure across, Martin also flipped the bird at the naysayers.

Martin's spokesperson was quick to clarify that fans were not the target of the rebuke.

"The finger and the 'f--- you' were in no way aimed at George RR Martin's fans but at an interviewer sticking a microphone in his face and asking a rude and morbid question about his health. George would never disrespect his fans – he loves them, and he loves their passion."

There is no Winds of Winter currently listed on George R.R. Martin's website. However, The Ice Dragon (new edition) and The World of Ice and Fire are both slated for release in October, while the anthology Old Venus will come out sometime in 2015.

George R.R. Martin will grace the Comi-Con event in San Diego between July 24 and 27, and he will also be present at the Edinburgh Book Festival in Scotland in August.
