'Winds of Winter' updates: George RR Martin to release sixth book in December 2016?

Fans of the highly successful book series "A Song of Ice and Fire" have been on the warpath when news that the release of the upcoming sixth novel "Winds of Winter" has been postponed yet again. Instead of the expected March 2016 schedule, they may have to wait until the end of the year to get a copy.

Sources claim that the author George R.R. Martin has been suffering from writer's block. Others say he has quite a busy schedule that prevents him from focusing on finishing the book. Martin has reportedly refused a couple of media appearances, but with the sixth season of "Game of Thrones" right around the corner, the book's release will still be months behind the television series premiere.

Although Martin has turned down several invitations, the International Business Times reports that he is unable to say no to a joint fan-meet session with fellow author Stephen King. The two are said to share the same agent and King was promoting his newest book. Aside from the event, Martin will also be hosting another affair for Joe Hill, King's son, who is also endorsing his own book.

Meanwhile, the promo for the upcoming season of "Game of Thrones" suggests that two major characters are meant to perish. With the book still in the air, viewers will never be sure if Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) will really end up dBO ying. Others think that the series will serve as a spoiler for the book. The HBO productions have previously announced that "Game of Thrones" will divert from "The Winds of Winter." If so, there is still a fighting chance that the mother of the dragons and the courageous little fighter are safe.

For now, fans are keeping their fingers crossed for a Christmas book release of "Winds of Winter." While waiting, they have the series to look forward to this April.
