The past two weeks have been memorable for fans of "Wolverine" as set pictures of the third film roamed the internet and it has recently been reported that the movie has received its title which is allegedly "Wolverine: Weapon X."

According to Collider, Fox has registered "Weapon X" but it should be noted that there is no confirmation given just yet. It could be that there is another title on the line and production has not yet chosen the best one for the upcoming film, which may explain why Fox has not officially commented on the issue yet.

Den of Geek also adds that the movie might actually be called "Weapon X" minus the iconic Wolverine name. It could be safe to assume that the third and final time Hugh Jackman takes on the blades will be titled with either of the two as recent reports point to the said labels.

Meanwhile, the first batch of set photos that surfaced last week has become the talk of the town as one of the images show Wolverine (Jackman) pushing Professor X's (Patrick Stewart) wheelchair and another shows him with a girl in tow.

Compared to the Wolverine seen in the previous films, the hero in the pictures show a heavily bearded man who can easily be called "Old Man Logan." According to Just Jared, the pictures were taken from a scene where Wolverine is wheeling Professor X out of a casino and into a truck.

There is not much known about the details of the upcoming motion picture, but in last year's Comic Con, Jackman confirmed that fans will definitely see Old Man Logan in all his aged glory. The set photos seem to resonate his remarks back then.

While many moviegoers are ecstatic to storm into theaters next year, there is also a lot of sadness as Jackman reiterated that "Wolverine 3" will be the last and final time he will put on the iconic claws.

"Wolverine 3" is expected to hit big screens on March 3, 2017.
