WWE rumors 2016: Nikki Bella to return from injury?

The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) women's division will be more interesting when the longest reigning Divas champion (defunct), Nikki Bella, makes her comeback from a neck injury later this year.

According to a report by Cageside Seats, Bella is already working out at the WWE Performance Center and if there are no setbacks, expect her to return by September.

Late last year, Bella was sidelined due to a career-threatening neck injury which was caused by her own finishing move, the "Rack Attack." The injury required the 32-year-old to undergo surgery.

However, it seems Bella has fully recovered and it might only be a matter of time before she again graces WWE programming.

The last angle Bella was involved in was a feud with former Divas and women's champion, Charlotte.

Bella and Charlotte competed for the title twice and in the second match, which was at "Night of Champions," Bella lost and this ended her reign which lasted for 301 days. She rematched Charlotte at "Hell in a Cell" in October but was unable to recapture the gold.

Following that storyline, the neck injury made Bella miss time but she had a few cameos. The first one was in December to receive the Slammy Award for Diva of the Year and the second was at last April's "Wrestlemania 32."

The biggest question in Bella's return would be, what brand will she join?

An ideal destination for Bella would be "SmackDown" because so far, "Monday Night Raw" has a better roster when it comes to the women's division. "Raw" has the likes of women's champion Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Paige, and Nia Jax. While "Smackdown's" women's division is led by veteran Natasha, and Becky Lynch.

Another factor that might affect Bella's future is partner John Cena, who is one of the biggest superstars on "SmackDown."
