WWE rumors 2016: Roman Reigns no longer a superstar?

Roman Reigns' days as one of the top guys in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) might be numbered following his violation of the company's wellness policy which led to him being suspended for 30 days ahead of "Battleground."

Last Sunday, Reigns competed in a Triple Threat match for the WWE championship. Unfortunately, he failed to recapture the strap he lost at "Money in the Bank."

The following night on "Monday Night Raw," Reigns participated in two matches to determine a no. 1 contender for the new WWE Universal championship. "The Guy" survived the first contest which was against Sami Zayn, Sheamus, and Chris Jericho.

But in the second one, Reigns failed to defeat former NXT champion Finn Bálor to book a title bout versus Seth Rollins at "SummerSlam."

The defeat may have ended Reigns' run as a main event-level superstar for now.

Perhaps this is because of the recent issue Reigns was involved in regarding the WWE's policy. The company has a reputation of taking away the spotlight from a controversial wrestler to let things cool down.

Once this is accomplished, the superstar is given a push and the issue will never be talked about again.

This might be what the WWE plans to do with Reigns, although there are other possibilities.

A heel turn might be looming for Reigns, and the WWE is going to execute it following the loss to Bálor.

Another potential scenario is that the WWE, as of the moment, will rest in trying so hard to push Reigns, something they are doing for the past few years since The Shield disbanded in 2014.

However, Reigns is undeniably one of the most recognized superstars in the WWE today. So he will likely be back to main event status and the title picture immediately.
