The identities of the mysterious four horsemen of the apocalypse in "X-Men: Apocalypse" have now been revealed. Reports indicate that Psylocke is one of the four guards but there is a surprise twist in the lineup — and they are Storm and Magneto.

During Fox's panel in San Diego Comic-Con Hall H, fans of the franchise were in for an absolute treat because that was when they officially released the first trailer for the big "X-Men" movie.

Aside from that, the identities of the four horsemen of the apocalypse were also revealed in the trailer and they are: Angel (who, as assumed will be called Archangel once he becomes Death), Psylocke, Storm and Magneto.

What they did here was a real surprise, because in the comics, Angel and Psylocke were originally part of the four horsemen who act as Apocalypse' personal guards. However, both of them, at different points in the timeline, have also served Death.

The inclusion of Storm, on the other hand, was a good twist. Alexandra Shipp explained why she was part of the horsemen that Apocalypse assembled and said via Screenrant that Storm was always searching for a God and Apocalypse used it as a leverage to persuade her to join his side, making her believe that he is the one she was looking for.

Oscar Isaac also shared that, Apocalypse' main power here is persuasion and he uses it to manipulate other mutants to join his side.

Magneto, however, being considered in the lineup is not too much of a surprise as he has always been portrayed as a villain in the X-Men universe since the first film — with the exception of "X-Men: Days of Future Past," in which he helped Charles Xavier and his students survive against the sentinels.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" is set to be released in cinemas on May 27, 2016.
