The Special Victims Squad of the New York Police Department reportedly has their eyes on Hollywood director Bryan Singer after a criminal complaint over a sexual assault was filed against him on May 9, 2014.

The 'criminal sexual act,' according to the alleged victim, took place on March 23, 2013. The complainant says that Singer 'forced' him to perform sexual acts on that day.

Before this latest criminal complaint was made, Singer had two sexual assault charges filed against him both of which were however dropped earlier this year.

According to Daily Mail, two teenage boys filed civil charges against Singer for sexually assaulting them.

One of those two teenagers is codenamed "John Doe 117," who claims that Singer drugged him and sexually assaulted him while under the influence inside a hotel located in London.

The first case was dropped in July 2014 for undisclosed reasons.

The second of the teenagers, Michael Egan, now 31, is an aspiring actor who says Singer assaulted him when he was 17 years old while on trips in Hawaii.

Egan also dropped his charges recently after saying no lawyer was willing to represent him.

According to Buzzfeed, New York police confirms that an investigation into Singer has been launched, though Singer's lawyer contradicts the statement:

"Neither my client nor any of his representatives have been contacted by the NYPD, or anyone else about an alleged criminal investigation of my client. False investigations are filed all the time and no action is taken by the authorities," Martin Singer, the director's lawyer, told Buzzfeed.
