Zayn Malik has recently announced the release of "Pillowtalk," the first single off his much-anticipated first solo album after breaking off his ties with One Direction almost a year ago.

Malik broke the news via his Twitter account on Jan. 24, posting a shirtless photo of him along with the release information of the song. "Pillowtalk" will drop on Jan. 29.

The 23-year-old singer will appear on "The Graham Norton Show" on the same day as the release of his single. It will be his first TV interview since leaving the band in March 2015. According to Huffingtonpost-UK, he will appear alongside other big names, including Will Smith, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Ryan Reynolds, Laura Mvula and Toby Jones.

The former 1D member has yet to tell more details about the new song. However, he stated in a previous interview with Billboard that his solo album will be different from what the band is used to.

"I genuinely enjoyed [the band] and did whatever I could to be myself within that, but it's just not where I sit as a musician," he said. "The other boys' taste was generally indie rock...That was never cool where I was from."

RCA chairman/CEO Peter Edge also added that Malik's music "doesn't feel like choreographed pop."

Speaking to The Sunday Times about "Pillowtalk," Malik revealed that it will be more adult than any of the songs he did with his former boyband. He also admitted in the interview that he is open to a reunion in the future with the rest of the band. "If the time was right and that was the thing to do, then I would make that decision when it came around," he said.

Meanwhile, One Direction recorded their first album, "Made in the A.M.," without him. And when it comes to it, Malik admitted to Billboard that he has not even heard any of the songs from the album.
