The iPhone 6s Plus is set to be one of the most popular phablets this year but smaller devices with unique features are going to give it a lot of competition, and the waterproof Galaxy S6 Active is one such. Here is how these two devices fare in a face off.

Design

Here the S6 Active is at a disadvantage as its body does not have any metal, and instead it has a hard plastic on its sides while there is rubber to provide protection from shocks. As for the back of the device, it has a camouflaged coating in blue and white but there is a plain gray version also. However, its waterproof and dust proof qualities are top notch, and it has an IP68 certification, meaning it can be submerged in 1.5 meter of water for 30 minutes and is also resistant to solar radiation and heat. There is no fingerprint scanner on the device, but one is present in the iPhone 6s Plus and it is integrated into its home button. As for the build of the iPhone 6s Plus it has a metal body and rounded edges and its design is generally considered to be among the best in the smartphone industry. Finally coming to colors it has four options: rose gold, gold, silver and gray.

Display

When it come to display size, the iPhone 6s Plus is the winner as it has an IPS LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and density of 401 pixels per inch. Also it has 3D Touch technology which can sense the amount of pressure being applied to the screen and it is then converted into input for apps. Coming to the super AMOLED screen of the S6 Active, it is smaller at 5.1 inches but it has better quality with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and density of 576 pixels per inch.

Specs

When it comes to specs, the iPhone 6s Plus is the faster device even though it only has an Apple A9 chipset, along with a dual-core CPU and a PowerVR GT7600 GPU. As for the S6 Active it has an Exynos 7420 chipset, coupled with an octa-core CPU and a Mali-T760 GPU.

Memory

Each of these devices does not have a memory slot, so external storage cannot be tacked on. As for RAM, the iPhone 6s Plus has 2 GB and its competitor has 3 GB.

Camera

The camera on the S6 Active is a 16 megapixel version with OIS, while the iPhone 6s Plus comes with a 12-megapixel version with OIS.

Price

In this category, the Galaxy S6 Active is the cheaper device as it is priced at $199 with a two year contract, while the iPhone 6s Plus costs $299 with a similar contract.
