Episode 488 of "Naruto Shippuden" is expected to conclude the Sasuke travels arc and open a new storyline that will involve Sasuke's daughter, Sarada. Fans were put in a major cliffhanger after the previous installment did not show the most-anticipated battle between Sasuke and the Ketsuryugan user Chino. It was finally revealed, however, that Chino is the Kekkei Genkai wielder.

It is also believed that Chino might still change her mind about her intent to kill Sasuke, the main object of her hatred, according to reports. In episode 488's short trailer, Chino is seen questioning why Sasuke made great efforts in order to defend Konoha when in truth, it was his village who schemed to have his entire clan wiped out from the face of the earth through his brother Itachi.

Sasuke is then seen explaining that he is motivated by a friend who believes that the world can still be a better place despite of its many adversities. Sasuke was referring to Naruto who patiently offered his friendship paving the way for the former to find some meaning in life.

In the previous episode, Sasuke found Chino — the young shinobi — in Hell Valley where the latter also revealed she is a descendant of the Chinoike Clan. What is surprising is that Chino does not seem to have a recollection of events from her past. The only memory she has is the time she was training to be a shinobi with En Oyashiro. She was able to defeat Fuushin in her first fight in the Coliseum, giving the former his first loss. Eventually, the two became good friends after they were hired by En Oyashiro to be part of his guards.

Soon enough, Chino discovers what happened to her clan and vowed to seek out revenge against the Uchiha Clan. Chino and Fuushin encounter other enemies along the way that unlocked the former's Kekkei Genkai.

The fight between Sasuke, the last of the Uchiha Clan, and Chino is expected to be mind-blowing as both possess Kekkei Genkai. Kekkei Genkai are genetic abilities passed down through clans that enable its users to mix elemental chakras, making them powerful and formidable.

"Naruto Shippuden" episode 488 will return on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017 after a one-week break.
