"Destiny 2" is on track for a 2017 release. Although a specific date has yet to be announced, it is rumored to be coming after the launch of the "Rise of Iron" downloadable content (DLC).

The last "Destiny" DLC called "Rise of Iron" is expected to go live on Sept. 20, which means that Bungie should be focusing on "Destiny 2" next, as they have promised previously. They have also confirmed a few weeks back that the majority was already working on the sequel, so the launch of the last DLC should mean that more people will now be tapped to fast-track the next game's progress, Ecumenical News reported.

As of now, it seems that "Destiny 2" will still be released in 2017. More details are expected to be revealed soon.

Meanwhile, Bungie has confirmed that PlayStation 4 Pro support for "Rise of Iron" is not yet on the pipelines. When asked by GameSpot about it, they replied: "No, not for Rise of Iron. We're all done. As far as the future... We have nothing to announce today, but we'll certainly be looking at it."

However, they did say that they are "looking at it." This might mean that they are focusing on more pressing matters right now, such as "Destiny 2," but will reconsider the idea in the future.

Other developers have stated that they are updating their titles for the recently announced PS4 Pro, which will enable the games to be played with 4K resolution. Some of the games that will take advantage of this new technology are "Titanfall 2," "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3," "The Last of Us Remastered" and "Rise of the Tomb Raider," among others, according to WCCFTech.

New upcoming titles for the console include "Battlefield 1" and "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare," as per The Verge.

The PS4 Pro officially launches on Nov. 10. It is priced at $399.
