Avid fans of "Attack on Titan" already know that there are Titan shapeshifters like Eren, but an intelligent Titan is something that's entirely new to viewers. The second season of the Japanese anime series is expected to introduce a new breed of Titans with a mental capacity matching that of humans, starting with Zeke.

According to reports, Zeke is not like any other Titan shifter. Unlike Eren, when Zeke transforms into his Titan self, he exhibits human intelligence. A normal Titan is bad enough, but a smart one is sure to be a game changer in the new season. Zeke's Titan form is also described as being beast-like. Because of his intelligence, he also has more control of himself when he is in Titan form.

Fans are already excited for the second season of "Attack on Titan." As previously reported, another thing they can look forward to is discovering the history of the walls that hold the city and the Titans that prey on them. This is expected to tie in with the history of the Reiss family, who is the real governing entity over the kingdom. Season 2 is said to reveal that the current "king" is not a king at all; rather, he is only a puppet of the Reiss family.

But the Reiss family is not necessarily evil. The head of the family, Rod Reiss, is going to be of huge help to the citizens, as well as Eren and his comrades. Rod is also a Titan shifter and is said to have the abilities needed to take down the Colossal Titan.

Apart from more action and revelations, the second season will also see more romance. Eren and Krista are expected to finally explore their feelings for each other. Mikasa and Levi's relationship is also going to have its fair share of the limelight.

"Attack on Titan" season 2 is expected to premiere in 2017.
