It is no secret that "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will set the stage for all DC Cinematic Universe superhero movies moving forward. And so it comes as no surprise that Robin will be making an appearance, both as an important part of Batman's life and as a backdrop of what can be expected in the upcoming DC movie, "Suicide Squad."

The first full trailer for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," which debuted during the SDCC 2015, already hinted on at least one Robin scene. There was a glimpse of the Robin suit in the batcave, defaced with a "Haha joke's on you, Batman" graffiti. This led to some major speculations on who will play Robin and how he will factor into the event movie.

Fresh from the rumor oven, showbiz insiders are reporting that director Zack Snyder's own son, Eli, will be stepping into the Robin suit. The said speculations have been going around for quite some time and Heroic Hollywood reiterates that this tidbit makes a lot of sense.

Eli's athletic nature — he stands 6 feet tall, weighs 174 pounds and played as a starting quarterback for the Maranatha High Varsity Football — makes him a cincher for the role. He has also appeared in "300" as the young Leonidas and in "The Watchmen" as the young Rorschach.

Snyder himself has seemingly confirmed a massive connection between "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and Joker. In the comics, Joker kills Robin, which is just one of the possible connections that may be featured in the movie.

Batman News reports that the 2016 "Batman v Superman" movie may feature some flashback scenes showing Robin being killed off by the Joker. Jared Leto will be making an early appearance as the DC Cinematic Universe's Joker.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" stars Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill in the titular roles and features most of the Justice League members, Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher).

It premieres on March 25, 2016.
