There are so many new characters that are set to debut in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, one of which is the famous sorcerer, Doctor Strange. Marvel president Kevin Feige has confirmed that the "Doctor Strange" movie is an origin film for the Neurosurgeon-turned-Master of the Mystic Arts.

During Feige's promotion for the home DVD/Blu-Ray release of "Avengers: Age of Ultron," the topic of the Sorcerer Supreme's origin came up and he confirmed that they will tackle it in the film.

An origin story can be quite boring especially when it has already been repeated countless of times before, as noted by Feige. He even admitted that the company is already bored with it. However, for "Doctor Strange," Marvel has decided to make an exception and Feige explained the reason behind it.

"Doctor Strange has one of the best, most classic, most unique origin stories of any hero we have, so why wouldn't we do that? That was sort of always the plan," the Marvel executive said during a Q&A with IGN. "How you tell that origin, perhaps there are ways to twist it or play with that, but for the most part, it's a gift when the comics have something with such clarity of story and of character. That doesn't always happen in the comics, and when it does, you use it."

In terms of concept, director of photography Ben Davis said last August that "Doctor Strange" is going to be dark and will have a "psychedelic grounding." According to a previous report, he also described the future film as "Marvel's fantasia."

So far, that's the only news that Marvel has released for "Doctor Strange." It looks like fans will just have to find out more about the movie in the coming months before its initial cinema premiere on Nov. 4, 2016.
