"Fast and Furious 8," or simply "Fast 8," if people are to latch on to what actor, Vin Diesel, said during the Teen's Choice Awards this year, is bringing back some of the characters whom fans of the franchise have come to love. And the actress who plays Letty Ortiz, who is one of those characters, has some pretty big wishes of her own.

ET Online chatted up Michelle Rodriguez and talked to her about the "Fast and Furious" franchise. The 37-year-old actress, who plays love interest to Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto in the movies, said that the new movie should unravel a plot that has never been unraveled before.

She explained, "Whatever the storyline is, it needs to be relevant. I think there's only so many times that you can keep repeating history. What happened with 'Fast 7,' I don't want to say it's a fluke, but people came out of the woodwork to show love for Paul, and that's something you're not going to have in the equation with the next one. Whatever it is that they cook up needs to touch the hearts and souls of people."

So how can the franchise achieve this? Rodriguez has a few ideas in mind, the first one being a new location.

She suggested that the film should explore the streets of New York, simply because the city has so much grounds to offer, starting with the Hell's Angels. She adds, "You've got a lot you can play with in New York."

Another thing that can shake things up for "Fast 8," according to the actress, is the addition of another female lead. Though she'd really want Angelina Jolie to join the cast, she says it can be anyone that has never been in the previous seven movies and who has a "powerful presence."

And if the franchise does decide to bring in another girl, she has to be on the same side as Letty. The "Fast and Furious" actress explained that female characters need to evolve and stop being against each other in films. She said they need to team up to fight a common enemy.

"Fast and Furious 8" aka "Fast 8" is currently in production and is scheduled to hit theaters on April 14, 2017.
