'Game of Thrones' season 7 cast news, updates: Iain Glen joins Kit Harington, Joe Dempsie in Iceland

(Facebook/GameofThrones)"Game of Thrones" has resumed filming in Northern Ireland and Iceland.

"Game of Thrones" has resumed production for its upcoming seventh season. Filming is currently underway in parts of Northern Island and Iceland. After three actors were spotted shooting scenes in Iceland last week, another notable name joined them over the weekend.

Iain Glen, who portrays Jorah Mormont, is back from winter break and is ready to film in Iceland. It can be assumed that he is joining Kit Harington, Joe Dempsie, and Paul Kaye — all of whom were spotted in the same country for the same purpose.

Based on the sightings, Watchers on the Wall theorizes that all four actors will be filming a critical scene involving some wildlings and White Walkers. Harington was last seen with Glen, Rory McCann, and Kristofer Hivju at Wolf Hill Quarry in Belfast. The scene was believed to depict Harington's Jon Snow traveling far into the North with Glen's Jorah Mormont, McCann's Sandor Clegane, and Hivju's Tormund Giantsbane to retrieve a wight. It is possible that filming for the same scene has been picked up in Iceland. McCann and Hivju are nowhere to be found, although it will not come as a surprise should they arrive at the same location.

Instead, Dempsie and Kaye join Harington and Glen in Iceland. Dempsie's Gendry was last seen paddling away in a rowboat way back in season 3, so his return will definitely be exciting and full of questions. Kaye's Thoros of Myr, along with Gendry, are expected to lend Jon a hand in his quest to capture a wight, which he then intends to show the leaders of Westeros in order to lend credence to the White Walker threat.

Considering the episode is being directed by Alan Taylor, it can be assumed that the scene will be shown in episode 6 of season 7. And since episode 6 is the penultimate installment of the next season — thanks to the shortened seven-episode order — a shocking occurrence is bound to happen.

"Game of Thrones" season 7 will premiere in the summer.
