'House of Cards' season 4 news: Kevin Spacey hints at a karmic new season

(Netflix)Kevin Spacey as Frank Underwood in "House of Cards"

While there have been several talks here and there about what's to happen in "House of Cards" season four, nothing was as definitive as word from the producer or actor themselves. This week, though, fans of the political drama lucks out as Kevin Spacey himself has finally dropped a clue about the upcoming season.

Kevin Spacey attended the Global Financial Leadership Conference in Naples and he talked a bit about his role, Frank Underwood, in the Netflix series "House of Cards." He let everybody in attendance know that perhaps every role he's taken from "American Beauty" to various roles were all in preparation for taking on Frank Underwood. He then touched a bit about the plot of season four.

Of course, he was careful to reveal specifics. But he did drop an important clue, and it involves karma:

"I will simply say this. If there are events that happen on the show, people get what they (expletive) deserve," Spacey was quoted by Naples News.

And maybe he is also talking about his own character, who was previously reported as possibly meeting his death in the upcoming season. In the original UK series of the same title, Frank's counterpart, Francis Urquhart, met his death in season four when he was assassinated by those he considered allies. This sparked rumours that maybe the same is about to happen in the Netflix adaptation. The separation of power couple, Frank and Claire (Robin Wright), also furthered this particular speculation.

As mentioned, there are no specifics yet when it comes to "House of Cards" season four but another popular plot theory is that Remy Danton (Mahershala Ali) and Jackie Sharp (Molly Parker) are going to be an important catalyst. Their rising tandem will either bring US Government's original "it" couple to their knees or push them to get back together and act upon new threats.

No definite release date yet for "House of Cards" season four. Stay tuned for updates.
