'iZombie' season 3 spoilers, news: David Anders to sing three times in season 3

It seems like Melissa Benoist (Supergirl) and Grant Gustin (The Flash) are not going to be the only ones lending their musical abilities to the network. TVLine has learned recently that Anders will be performing three times in the upcoming season. Unlike Benoist and Gustin's forthcoming episodes, "iZombie" is not expected to air a full-blown musical installment. He is just expected to sing.

According to TVLine, the first of Anders' performances will be dedicated to musician Rob Thomas. Meanwhile, the other two song numbers will be about the characters' new job.

Anders, along with singer Aly Michalka and a few of their co-stars, has been eager to make an "iZombie" musical episode. Seeing how "The Flash" and "Supergirl" have taken the strides to create a musical crossover, Anders felt more assured that they, too, could do so. A few other co-stars, however, have been apprehensive about the approach. Rose McIver, who portrays, Liv, said that the rest could just be backup, play the bongos or something else.

As previously reported, the promo for the upcoming season of "iZombie" teases how Liv's colleagues will be going the extra mile to convince her to join the secret zombie society, Filmore Graves' zombie army. The group is composed of zombies living in secret, amid human society. They are training and preparing for the day breathing human beings will realize that the undead is living among them. In the season to come, viewers will find out where Liv will side.

"iZombie" season 3 debuts with episode 1, "Heaven Just Got a Little Smoother," on April 4, Tuesday, at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
