'Justice League' cast news, spoilers: Green Lantern, John Cleese to appear?

(Facebook/justiceleagueofficial)"Justice League" will hit theaters on Nov. 10, 2017.

Fans of the DC Extended Universe are gearing up for 2017 — the year the "Justice League" film will be finally released. The trailer already showed the six key members of the team, but rumor has it that there may be a seventh one.

Rumor has it that Green Lantern may be making an appearance in the upcoming film, although he wasn't included in the trailer. It can be recalled that a standalone movie featuring the superhero was released in 2011. Starring Ryan Reynolds as the titular superhero, the film went on to become a critical flop. Given that "Green Lantern" was not received very well, it remains to be seen if his character will make it to "Justice League." However, with the right direction and story, fans believe that Green Lantern may have a chance.

Another popular speculation is that English actor and comedian John Cleese may be joining the superhero ensemble film. Sources reveal that Cleese recently started following Zack Snyder and Ben Affleck on Twitter. Snyder is set to direct the upcoming film, while Affleck will reprise his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Cleese's involvement in "Justice League" has yet to be confirmed, though, but speculations about his character in the film have already started circulating.

"Justice League" will see Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) on a mission to recruit metahumans as danger looms. Jason Mamoa stars as Aquaman, along with Ray Fisher as Cyborg and Ezra Miller as The Flash, aka Barry Allen.

Fans were already introduced to Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman, when she made her cinematic debut in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," which ended with Superman's (Henry Cavill) sacrifice. The Amazonian warrior princess is set to appear in her own standalone movie, premiering on June 1, 2017.

"Justice League" is schedule to be released on Nov. 10, 2017.
