'Pokémon GO' Trading System release date: Code for new feature found in new update

(REUTERS/Chris Helgren)"Pokémon GO" is a highly popular augmented reality mobile game.

Niantic continues to provide new and exciting updates for players of "Pokémon GO." This is perhaps a way to ensure that active users of the game don't abandon it. But the latest rumor of a Trading System being incorporated into "Pokémon GO" may just bring back the players who have.

According to reports, a code for the highly anticipated Trading System has been found in the latest update, which was for the Buddy System. So how will it work?

Trainers will have the ability to search for "Trading Players" and do a number of actions when it comes to "Trade Offers." Players can create them, cancel them, and complete them. But the main attraction of the feature will allow players to trade Pokémon. However, at this time, it is known that only one Pokémon can be traded.

Apart from that, it remains to be seen what other capabilities or limitations will come with this new Trading System. It is unknown as to what extent players can trade Pokémon or if players will be able to trade worldwide.

However, it should be noted that the general assumption is that players can trade with just about anyone without having the need to be actual friends in real life. The way it works is players can look for other players to trade with, as long as both are in the same area.

Since Niantic has not officially announced the rollout of the Trading System update, it is unknown when fans will be able to get their hands on the feature. What is known, though, is that the Trading System is a part of the developer's plans. Niantic CEO John Hanke even apparently confirmed this himself.

As for the latest update, the Buddy System allows players to earn candy for a certain Pokémon type as long as players walk around with that buddy Pokémon. The distance of the walk depends on the type, though.
