'The Big Bang Theory' season 10 premiere spoilers: episode 1 to see a wedding, picks up a day after season 9 finale

When "The Big Bang Theory" returns for its 10th season this month, the entire gang will have their own things to deal with.

The season 9 finale left off with a huge cliffhanger that saw Sheldon's mother, Mary (Laurie Metcalf), and Leonard's father, Alfred (Judd Hirsch), retreating to a hotel room after a not-so-pleasant dinner. And according to showrunner Steve Molaro, season 10 will pick up a day after that.

"It's awkward. Leonard's mom, Beverly (Christine Baranski), feels like her ex-husband is doing this on purpose, and she doesn't want to stand around and be humiliated and she doesn't even want to stay for this wedding; she's ready to leave," Molaro told The Hollywood Reporter. Thankfully, everyone convinces Beverly into staying, but the events will surely be filled with laughs.

The start of the upcoming season will also see Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) getting married — this time, with their family and friends to witness it in person. Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) will be the one officiating and it will be set outdoors.

When asked if Leonard and Penny are the only ones getting married in the episode, Molaro played a bit more coy. "A ceremony takes place. It may not be as conventional as planned, but a ceremony will take place," he teased.

As for Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik), their relationship will undergo a lot in terms of growth. Fans know that Sheldon is a bit apprehensive when it comes to these things, but the pair will get there in time, even if it's slower than it takes most people.

Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette are expecting a baby soon, which will definitely happen in the upcoming season. On the other hand, Raj will still have to choose between the two girls from season 9. New faces will also be guest starring, including Dean Norris as someone from the Air Force, Katey Sagal as Penny's mother, and Jack McBrayer as Penny's brother.

As for the posibility of going beyond 10 seasons, Molaro says that he's taking it script by script and tries not to worry over what the future will hold. However, as it was previously reported, CBS is very interested in continuing the series.

"The Big Bang Theory" season 10 will premiere on Sept. 19 on CBS.
