As is now tradition among "American Horror Story" buffs, as soon as the previous season ends, speculations of the next season starts. Since the anthology series by FX are all tied together, with clues leading to connections, possible upcoming stories and more, fans are engaging in rampant guesswork regarding the setting and story of season five.

Passionate watchers of the hit thriller and horror series may recall that season four's finale "Curtain Call" saw Massimo breaking Elsa Mars' heart when she asks him to run away with her. The reason he gave when he refused was that he only had a month to live due to his "bone and lung disease". Massimo departs, but not before starting a slew of rumors that the new setting for season five may be a Nevada test site.

Massimo could have acquired the disease as a result of radiation poisoning from bombs he manufactured. "Operation Top Hat", launched by the US Army in 1953, was classified as a local field exercise but was much more. The operation was designed to test decontamination methods for people afflicted with conditions and diseases as a result of radiation poisoning and nerve gas exposure. Chemical Corps personnel and other people were victims of a bomb detonated by the Government for testing and Massimo could have been a victim of exposure. The bomb-testing made residents of Nevada and Utah sick with leukemia, lymphoma, melanoma and many other conditions.

The Inquisitr reports that the setting for season five will be in the present day. Jessica Lange may not be back for season five or will have a limited role as Ryan Murphy, creator of the show, thanked Lange for everything on Twitter. Fans also want to see Lily Rabe and Taissa Farmiga return for season five since they were absent in "Freakshow". However, there is still time for Lange to change her mind and horror buffs hope that she does.
