(Twitter / Anime "Attack on Titan" official account)The voices behind the anime "Attack on Titan" attended the March Festival held on July 3 where the premiere of season 2 was announced.

Speculations on the upcoming "Attack on Titan" season 2 have come to an end with the announcement of its spring 2017 premiere. A teaser poster has also been published, which features Eren among those facing off with a Titan.

The announcement of season 2 was made on July 3 at the Tokyo International Forum where the voices behind the characters read parts of the script live. Creator Hajime Isayama personally made the announcement and also took to his Twitter account to acknowledge that the wait has been long. He also said that the interest shown by his followers is what kept him going. He also extended his gratitude saying, "Thank you for waiting. We have kept you waiting a little bit more, but please bear with me."

The announcement came with a poster that shows Eren's, Mikasa's, and Armin's backs facing a Titan. Behind the Titan is Eren's Titan form facing off with a bigger Titan that is breaking through the Wall Rose.

From there, speculations of the plot have made the rounds, but many were particularly interested in the site of Armin who died in the first season. It was a sad moment for the anime fans as Armin's intelligence has made him a great warrior despite his physical weakness.

A popular theory involves Captain Levi who has with him a Titan serum. Eren himself has advised him to use it on their friend. Another character, Erwin, is also rumored to be resurrected, which leads to another speculation that there could be more Titan serums at hand.

One Titan shown in the poster has not yet been introduced and fans are divided in their opinion about who could that be. Some believe it is Erwin in Titan form as Armin is seen in his human form. Others also think it could be Armin's Titan form.
